Up to 24" of powder forecasted for Bear Valley Mountain Resort

2018-03-13: Storms are expected to bring 24 inches of powder to Bear Valley Mountain Resort. The mountain has been getting a decent amount of snow this season, and has a 30 inch current snowpack depth, and more accumulation is expected, with powder hungry skiiers and riders preparing as severe wintry weather are possible


The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the ski area. Things can get a bit dicey out there, so be cautious of Heavy snow and strong wind. Snow accumulations of 1 to 3 feet above 3000 feet with 2 to 6 feet at pass levels through late Friday. Snow levels will lower tonight to 3500 to 4500 by Wednesday morning, then remain around 3000 to 4000 feet through the remainder of the week. Travel will be very difficult to impossible. * . Southwest wind gusts up to 50 mph at times over higher terrain. Be prepared for significant reductions in visibility at times with heavy snow and strong wind.. The alert is in effect until 2018-03-17T05:00:00-07:00.



Other ski resorts expecting to get snow over the next week are Boreal Mountain Resort in California predicted to receive 15 inches of snow and Dodge Ridge Ski Area predicted to receive 24 more inches over the next 2-3 days
