The prospect of severe weather has led to the NWS issuing a Winter Storm Warning for the ski area. Skiiers should prepare for Heavy snow expected. Plan on difficult travel conditions. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 12 inches, localized amounts up to 24 inches, are expected. * . Be prepared for significant reductions in visibility at times.. The alert is in effect until 2018-01-21T05:00:00-07:00.

Other ski resorts gearing up for powder in the coming days are Bear Valley Mountain Resort in California cued to get 18 inches of snow and Beaver Mountain Ski Area expecting to get 21 more inches over the next few days
