The watershed is primarily agricultural and forested, with some urban and suburban areas. The hydrology of the area is dominated by the Paint Creek, which flows through the center of the watershed and eventually joins the Scioto River. The watershed receives an average of 43 inches of rainfall per year, with most of the precipitation occurring during the spring and summer months. Snowpack is generally minimal in the area, with only occasional heavy snowfalls in the winter. Surface water in the watershed is predominantly used for recreation and fishing, although some areas are also used for drinking water supply. The reservoirs in the watershed contain primarily sediment and organic matter. In recent years, the area has experienced increased precipitation and a trend towards more extreme weather events, such as heavy rainfall and flooding.
