Watershed Hydrology

The Pease Watershed (HUC 11130105) is located in northwestern Montana and covers an area of approximately 332 square miles. The watershed is characterized by high elevations and steep terrain, which contributes to a highly dynamic hydrological environment. Snowpack is an important component of the watershed's hydrology, with winter snowfall supplying much of the surface water during the spring and summer months. Surface water is dominated by small streams and tributaries, which ultimately flow into the Flathead River. The watershed is home to several reservoirs, including the Ashley Lake Reservoir and the Stillwater River Reservoir. Interesting climatic facts about the Pease Watershed include its relatively high elevation, which results in cooler temperatures and higher precipitation levels compared to surrounding areas. In recent years, the region has experienced an increase in both precipitation and temperature, which may have implications for the watershed's hydrology and ecosystem.
