2018-02-17: Winter weather is on the way and expected to bring 22 inches of fresh snow to Bald Mountain (not Sun Valley). The mountain is currently sitting at a inch current snowpack depth, and more accumulation is expected, with skiiers and snowboarders watching the skies as severe snow conditions are likely


The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the ski area. Folks should be aware about Snow occurring. Heavy snow is expected into Sunday, especially above 3000 feet. Total snow accumulations of 12 to 18 inches for elevations above 3000 feet. 1 to 2 inches below 3000 feet. * . Plan on difficult travel conditions. Tree branches could fall. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph will cause areas of blowing and drifting snow. Plan on slippery road conditions. Be prepared for reduced visibilities at times.. The alert is in effect until 2018-02-18T05:00:00-07:00.



Other ski resorts forecasted to receive white stuff over the next week are Lookout Pass in Idaho cued to get 17 inches of snow and Mt. Baker Ski Area slated to receive 17 more inches in the next 72 hours
