Viking Lake State Park is a picturesque camping area in southwest Iowa, offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside. An interesting/quirky fact about the area is that Viking Lake State Park was named after the Viking explorer, Leif Erikson. The park was established in 1935, making it one of the oldest state parks in Iowa.
