Longleaf Vista Recreation Area is a beautiful camping spot located in Louisiana's Kisatchie National Forest. The camping area offers stunning views of the forest and the Kisatchie Hills Wilderness Area, providing ample opportunities for hiking and nature watching. The nearby Kisatchie Bayou offers a variety of water activities. The campground has 25 first-come-first-served campsites and is open year-round. The campsites have amenities such as picnic tables, fire rings, and grills. Restrooms, showers, and potable water are also available on-site. The best time to visit Longleaf Vista Recreation Area is between September and November when the temperature is moderate, and the foliage is beautiful. The average temperature during this time of year is around 70°F during the day and 50°F at night.
