The camping area is situated near several attractions, including the Lake Cypress Springs Marina, restaurants, and golf courses. The campground amenities include a boat ramp, picnic tables, fire rings, and restrooms with showers. The campsites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and the campground offers a total of 50 campsites.
One quirky fact about the area is that it is home to a rare species of salamanders, called the Texas blind salamander. These salamanders are found only in a few springs in the Cypress Creek drainage system and are almost entirely blind as they have no functional eyes.
The best time of year to visit Walleye Park Lake Cypress Springs Camping Area is during the spring and fall seasons. The average temperature during spring (March to May) is around 70°F to 80°F, while the average temperature during fall (September to November) is around 60°F to 70°F. Visitors can enjoy the pleasant weather and participate in various activities such as fishing, boating, hiking, and birdwatching.
