Watershed Hydrology

The HAW Watershed (HUC 03030002) is located in the western part of the United States, covering an area of 2,064 square miles. The hydrology of the watershed is mainly influenced by the Colorado River, which flows through the region. The watershed receives a significant amount of snowfall during the winter months, which contributes to the replenishment of surface water and the creation of the local snowpack. The surface water in the HAW watershed is primarily used for irrigation, municipal, and industrial purposes. The water quality of the reservoir is constantly monitored, with major constituents such as total dissolved solids, chloride, and sulfate being closely monitored. An interesting climatic fact is that the region has been experiencing a significant decrease in snowpack over the past few decades due to climate change, which has led to a decrease in water availability for the region.
