Watershed Hydrology

The Little Watershed (HUC 03060105) covers an area of approximately 295 square miles and is located in northeastern Utah. The hydrology of this watershed is characterized by a semi-arid climate, with low precipitation and high evapotranspiration rates. The area receives most of its water from snowpack melt in the winter and spring months. Snowpack levels are highly variable from year to year, and are influenced by a number of factors, including temperature, precipitation, and wind patterns. Surface water in the Little Watershed is limited, with most of the water flowing into the Green River via small streams and tributaries. There are several small reservoirs in the watershed, which are used for irrigation and recreation. The reservoirs are composed primarily of sediment and clay, with some gravel and sand. Overall, the Little Watershed is an important resource for the local community, providing water for farming, recreation, and wildlife habitat.
