Watershed Hydrology

The Brier Watershed (HUC 03060108) covers an area of approximately 48 square miles in Snohomish County, Washington. The area is characterized by a humid, temperate climate with an average annual precipitation of around 60 inches. The Brier watershed is fed by several streams, including Swamp Creek and Lunds Gulch, which eventually flow into Puget Sound. The watershed is also home to several small reservoirs, including the Roosevelt and Echo Lake reservoirs. Snowpack in the Brier watershed is typically light, with an average annual snowfall of around 10 inches. Surface water from the streams and reservoirs in the Brier watershed is used for irrigation, industrial purposes, and public water supply. The water quality in the watershed is generally good, with low levels of pollutants. Climate trends in the Brier watershed over the past few decades have included slightly warmer temperatures and slightly higher precipitation, although these changes have not been significant. There have also been some fluctuations in streamflow in response to changes in precipitation patterns.
