Watershed Hydrology

The new watershed (HUC 03130013) covers an area of approximately 1,250 square miles in northeast Utah and western Wyoming. The area is characterized by high elevations and a mountainous terrain, resulting in a hydrologic system that is heavily influenced by snowpack. The watershed is home to several large reservoirs that provide important water resources for the region, including agricultural and municipal uses. Additionally, the area experiences a unique climate characterized by cold winters and warm summers, with precipitation occurring primarily in the form of snowfall during the winter months. Recent trends suggest that the region is experiencing decreased snowfall and earlier snowmelt, which could have significant impacts on water availability and management in the future.
