The Kickapoo watershed (HUC 07070006) covers an area of 1,829 square miles, situated in west-central Wisconsin. The area is characterized by a humid continental climate with cold winters and moderate summers. The watershed has an extensive network of streams and rivers that eventually flow into the Mississippi River. The Kickapoo River is the main river in the area, and it is known for its excellent trout fishing opportunities. The watershed receives an average annual precipitation of about 34 inches, which mainly occurs during the growing season. In addition, the area experiences an average annual snowfall of about 44 inches, which accumulates to form a specific snowpack. The Kickapoo Reservoir, located in the watershed, provides a source of drinking water and recreational opportunities.
