Watershed Hydrology

The Nodaway Watershed (HUC 10240010) covers an area of approximately 4,305 square kilometers in northwest Missouri. The hydrology of the watershed is dominated by the Nodaway River and its tributaries, which provide surface water for the region. The watershed experiences a wide range of climatic conditions, with an average annual precipitation of 1050 mm, and a mean annual temperature of 12°C. Snowpack in the area can be significant, with an average of 33 inches of snowfall per year. The watershed is home to several reservoirs, including the Nodaway Lake, which provides a source of water for local communities.
