Gallagher Canyon State Recreation Area is a popular spot for outdoor recreation in Nebraska. Located in the western part of the state, it offers visitors a variety of activities to enjoy, including camping, fishing, hiking, and boating.

Interesting facts about Gallagher Canyon include its history as a site for the construction of a hydroelectric dam in the early 20th century. The project was ultimately abandoned, but the reservoir remains as a testament to the area's potential for water-based energy production.
