Southwest winds will increase even more on Thursday and combine with many hours of single-digit humidity to create extremely critical fire weather conditions across much of central and eastern NM, with critical fire weather conditions elsewhere. Critical fire weather conditions will likely redevelop on Friday across much of central and eastern NM as strong southwest winds persist. * AREA AND TIMING...This includes the Northwest Plateau (Zone 101), Northeast Plains (Zone 104), East Central Plains (Zone 126), North Central Mountains (Zone 120), and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains (Zone 122). * 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts between 50 and 60 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values 5 to 10 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
