Hyco Lake covers 3,750 acres with a maximum depth of around 120 feet. The lake's primary inflow is from the Hyco River, and it is also fed by several smaller creeks. The lake provides recreational activities such as fishing, boating, and swimming. The surrounding area is mostly agricultural, with tobacco being the primary crop. The lake's water level is controlled by the Army Corps of Engineers, and the lake's hydrology is influenced by surface flows and snowpack from the surrounding area.
