The East Branch Delaware River is a 75-mile tributary of the Delaware River in New York.
It originates in the Catskill Mountains and flows through the Village of Delhi, eventually joining the West Branch in Hancock to form the main stem of the Delaware River. The East Branch has a rich history dating back to pre-colonial times and was an important transportation route for Native Americans and early settlers. Today, the river serves as a source of hydroelectric power, water supply for local communities, and is popular for recreational activities such as fishing, kayaking, and camping. The river is also home to various species of fish, including trout and bass, and is surrounded by forests and farmland. The watershed is fed by snowpack from the surrounding mountains and surface water from streams and creeks.
