The Pamunkey River is a 93-mile long waterway located in eastern Virginia. The river has a rich history, serving as the ancestral home of the Pamunkey Indian Tribe and playing a significant role in the American Civil War. Hydrologically, the river flows from the Piedmont region of Virginia to the Chesapeake Bay, with a watershed area of over 1,000 square miles.
