Summary

While the current snowpack measures just 1 inch—down over 60% from the seasonal average—skiers can look forward to a dusting of fresh powder, with just under an inch forecasted over the next 72 hours. Conditions on the mountain remain thin, so expect limited terrain and machine-groomed trails where open. Still, Crotched’s powerful snowmaking system is working overtime to bolster coverage, especially ahead of anticipated heavier snowfall this coming weekend.

Despite modest on-the-ground snow, excitement is building across the region, with the Farmers’ Almanac calling for a snowy winter in New Hampshire. Crotched's beloved night-skiing tradition, including the legendary “Midnight Madness,” is expected to return soon, offering late-night thrills under the stars. Local buzz continues as Crotched Mountain garners attention for improvements across its resort facilities. Meanwhile, long-standing community institutions like the Crotched Mountain School are undergoing significant changes under new ownership, reflecting the evolving spirit of this cherished local landmark. Skiers are encouraged to check updates regularly and take advantage of the resort’s vibrant après-ski scene while awaiting the season’s first big snowfall.
