Gassan ski resort in Japan is known for its excellent powder snow and long ski season, with slopes open from April to July. The resort features a variety of trails for all skill levels, but the best trails for experienced skiers are the 8 km long Daikura and the challenging Mogami. A lesser-known fact is that Gassan is located on an active volcano, and skiers can see steam rising from the slopes. For beginner skiers, the gentle slopes of the Toge area are perfect, and ski lessons are available. After a day on the slopes, the Kiraku bar is a popular apres ski spot, known for its delicious food and drinks.
