The Sand Wash boat ramp is managed by the Bureau of Land Management and is open year-round. The body of water it services is the Green River, which is popular for fishing and boating activities. The Green River is a class I-III river, which means it is suitable for canoes, kayaks, and rafts. Motorized watercraft that do not exceed 35 horsepower are also permitted on the river.
