Lake Andes National Wildlife Refuge is located in southeastern South Dakota and northeastern Nebraska. The refuge is a wetland area covering 5,638 acres, of which 4,200 acres are water. It was established in 1936 to provide habitat for waterfowl and other migratory birds. There are several good reasons to visit Lake Andes National Wildlife Refuge.
