The campground offers stunning views of the Pend Oreille River and its surrounding mountains. The nearby city of Priest River has plenty of amenities, including grocery stores, gas stations, and restaurants. Additionally, guests can explore the many hiking trails in the nearby Kaniksu National Forest or take a scenic drive on the Pend Oreille Scenic Byway.
The campground itself features 47 campsites, including 20 with electric hookups. Amenities include clean restrooms, hot showers, picnic tables, fire rings, and a boat launch. Reservations are accepted, but some campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
One quirky fact about the area is that it was once home to the world's largest sawmill, which produced lumber for much of the western United States.
The best time to visit Willow Bay City Park is during the summer months when temperatures average in the mid-70s to low 80s. However, the fall is also a beautiful time to visit when the leaves change colors and temperatures are cooler.
