The campground offers basic amenities such as vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings. There is no running water or electrical hookups at the campsites. However, potable water is available at the entrance of the campground. Reservations are not accepted, and campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There are 26 campsites, with a maximum of eight people per site.

An interesting fact about the area is that it was once inhabited by the Caddo Native Americans, who left behind numerous artifacts and burial mounds. The best time to visit Upper Caney Campground is in the spring or fall, with average temperatures ranging from 50-70 degrees Fahrenheit.
