Twelvemile Beach Campground

Twelvemile Beach Campground is a first-come, first-serve camping area located in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Michigan. This campground offers 36 campsites for tents and RVs, all equipped with picnic tables and fire rings. Visitors are surrounded by breathtaking views of Lake Superior and the sand dunes nearby. Nearby points of interest include the magnificent Pictured Rocks cliffs, Chapel Rock, and the Grand Sable Dunes.

The campground amenities include vault toilets and potable water, and each campsite has access to a food storage locker to protect from bears. An interesting fact about the area is that the Grand Sable Dunes, stretching for five miles along the shore, are the largest freshwater dunes in the world.

The best time of year to visit Twelvemile Beach Campground is from mid-June to mid-September when average temperatures range from 50°F to 70°F. However, visitors should be prepared for sudden weather changes and occasional high winds.
