It's free, with no reservations or permits required. There are no amenities: no toilets (pit or flush), no potable water, no fire rings, grills, or picnic tables. RVs can access the area but should be self-contained, as there are no hookups. Nestled in the Mark Twain National Forest, the setting is peaceful and forested, ideal for solitude seekers and seasoned campers. Nearby trails like the Big Piney Trail offer excellent hiking. The best time to visit is spring through fall for mild weather and vibrant foliage. Pack in everything you need, and practice Leave No Trace principles.
