The camping area provides a number of amenities such as showers, restrooms, and picnic tables. Campsites are available on a first-come-first-served basis, but reservations can be made in advance for some of the sites. There are a total of 120 campsites in the park, including both tent and RV sites.
An interesting fact about the area is that it was once home to Native American tribes who used the Trough Creek Valley as a hunting ground. The park was later established in 1937 as part of the Civilian Conservation Corps' effort to develop parks and public lands across the United States.
