Located in the Cherokee National Forest in southeastern Tennessee, Camping Islands offers breathtaking mountain views and opportunities for fishing, hiking, and paddling on the adjacent Hiwassee River. The campground offers 29 first-come-first-serve campsites with picnic tables, fire rings, and access to restrooms and potable water. The best time to visit is in the summer months when temperatures average around 80 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and can drop down to the 60s at night.
