Grand Isle, Louisiana is a barrier island located on the Gulf of Mexico. The climate is subtropical with hot summers, mild winters, and high humidity. The hydrology constituents are dominated by saltwater due to its location on the Gulf, but there are also freshwater marshes and bayous. Fishing is a popular outdoor recreation activity, with opportunities for catching redfish, speckled trout, and flounder.
