The Sage Cr - J9 segment of the Whitewater River Run in Nevada is rated as a Class III-IV river run. The ideal streamflow range for this segment is between 500-1500 cfs. This segment of the Whitewater River Run is approximately 6.5 miles long and is known for its rapids and obstacles such as "The S-Turn," "The Playground," and "The Y."

In terms of regulations, the Nevada Department of Wildlife requires all boaters to have a life jacket for each person on the boat and a throwable device.
