The ideal streamflow range for this section of the river is between 400 to 800 cubic feet per second (cfs), although experienced kayakers and rafters can navigate it up to 1,200 cfs. The segment mileage is approximately 12.5 miles, starting at the confluence of Beaver and Sulphur Creeks and ending at the town of Monticello.
Some of the notable rapids and obstacles in the Beaver Wash Canyon include the "House Rapid," "The Chute," "The Narrows," and "Jaws." These rapids are known for their steep drops, narrow channels, and technical challenges. It is recommended that only experienced whitewater paddlers attempt to navigate this section of the river.
Specific regulations to the area include a permit system for commercial outfitters and a seasonal closure between March 15th to May 15th to protect nesting birds of prey. Additionally, visitors are required to practice Leave No Trace principles and pack out all trash and waste.
