One of the main reasons to visit the park is to see the famous Marblehead Lighthouse, which has been in operation since 1822. In addition to the lighthouse, the park offers a variety of recreational activities such as fishing, hiking, and picnicking. Visitors can also explore the nearby attractions such as the Marblehead Lighthouse Museum and the nearby Cedar Point amusement park.
Interesting facts about the area include that the lighthouse was almost destroyed during the War of 1812, but was saved by a teenage girl who kept the lantern lit during an attack. Additionally, the lighthouse was once home to the first female lighthouse keeper on the Great Lakes.
