Seasonally, the creek experiences higher flows in the spring due to snowmelt and increased precipitation. Interestingly, the creek runs through the heart of the historic Bethlehem district and played a key role in the development of the town. It was used for milling and transportation, and even inspired a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
