* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Illinois, including the following areas, Hancock, Henderson, McDonough, Mercer and Warren, southeast Iowa, including the following areas, Des Moines, Henry IA, Jefferson, Keokuk, Lee, Louisa, Van Buren and Washington, and northeast Missouri, including the following areas, Clark and Scotland. * WHEN...Until 10 AM CDT this morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Some of the flooding may be significant. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rounds of rain with embedded thunderstorms will occur across the area through this morning with peak hourly rates around 1 inch from the strongest storms. Rainfall totals will vary considerably across the watch area. Hardest hit areas along and south of Highway 34 have already seen between 3 to 5 inches or more, with upwards to an additional inch possible early this morning. Otherwise, other locations south of Interstate 80 saw between 1 to 3 inches of rain overnight, with areas north less than an inch.
