Blkrhouse Pond Dam 2, also known as Suzanne Hudson Pond Dam 2, is a privately owned dam located in Georgetown, South Carolina. Built in 1930, this earth dam stands at a height of 16 feet and spans a length of 380 feet, providing a recreational purpose for the local community. With a storage capacity of 101 acre-feet and a surface area of 23 acres, the dam is situated on the TR-BLACK RIVER, under the jurisdiction of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SC DHEC).

Despite its low hazard potential, Blkrhouse Pond Dam 2 is in poor condition as of the last inspection in December 2017. The dam has a history of poor maintenance, raising concerns about its long-term safety and reliability. With a 5-year inspection frequency, it is crucial for the owners and regulatory agencies to address the dam's structural issues to ensure the safety of the surrounding community and the preservation of the recreational benefits provided by the dam. As climate change continues to impact water resources, it is essential to prioritize the maintenance and rehabilitation of aging dams like Blkrhouse Pond Dam 2 to mitigate potential risks and adapt to changing hydrological conditions.
