Eagle Creek Reservoir is a man-made lake located in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was constructed in 1968 for the purpose of flood control, recreational use, and as a source of drinking water. The reservoir is fed by several creeks and streams, including Eagle Creek, and is also supplied by snowmelt from the surrounding areas. The reservoir is managed by the Indianapolis Department of Waterworks and covers over 1,400 acres. Agricultural activities in the area are limited due to the reservoir’s location within a metropolitan area. Recreational activities at the reservoir include fishing, boating, hiking, and picnicking. The reservoir is also home to several species of fish, including bass, catfish, and crappie. Additionally, the reservoir serves as an important habitat for migratory birds.
