Frd No 6, also known as the City of Atchison Dam 6, is a local government-owned structure located in Atchison, Kansas. Built in 1963 by USDA NRCS, this earth dam serves the primary purpose of flood risk reduction along the White Clay Creek. Standing at 43 feet tall with a length of 650 feet, Frd No 6 has a maximum storage capacity of 193 acre-feet and covers a surface area of 4.5 acres.

Managed and regulated by the Kansas Department of Agriculture, Frd No 6 has a high hazard potential but is currently in satisfactory condition according to the last inspection in April 2019. Despite its age, this dam continues to play a crucial role in protecting the surrounding area from flooding, with a maximum discharge capacity of 600 cubic feet per second. As a key component of the flood risk reduction infrastructure in the region, Frd No 6 stands as a testament to the importance of water resource management and climate resilience in safeguarding communities from natural disasters.
