Managed by the local government and regulated by the Maine Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), Salmon Lake is subject to regular inspections to ensure its structural integrity. Despite being classified as having a significant hazard potential, the dam's condition is assessed as fair as of the last inspection in July 2016. The dam's emergency action plan was last revised in October 2020, ensuring that proper protocols are in place in case of any unforeseen events.
