Completed in 1968, this earth dam stands at 34 feet high and spans 1070 feet, providing storage of up to 1121 acre-feet of water. With a normal storage capacity of 245 acre-feet and a drainage area of 2.9 square miles, the dam plays a crucial role in mitigating potential flooding in the region.

Located in the city of SPRAGUE, Upper Salt Creek 25-A is regulated and inspected by the NE DNR, with state permitting, inspection, and enforcement in place.
