Echo Canyon Dam, also known as E-T Highway Dam, is a privately owned structure located in Nye, Nevada. Built in 1930 by the United Cattle & Packing Co, this Earth-type dam stands at a height of 25 feet and has a hydraulic height of 19 feet. The dam's primary purposes include fire protection, stock, and small fish pond maintenance, with a storage capacity of 300 acre-feet and a normal storage of 10 acre-feet.
Situated on the Twin Springs Slough, Echo Canyon Dam serves as a crucial water resource for the area, with a drainage area of 1054 acres and a surface area of 80 acres. The dam's spillway, of uncontrolled type, has a width of 14 feet to manage a maximum discharge of 1070 cubic feet per second. Despite its low hazard potential, the dam is regularly inspected by Nevada DWR, with the last assessment conducted in May 2018, rating its condition as fair.
