Lake No 4 Dam, also known as Peterson Lake, is a private dam located in Nye, Nevada, along the Armagosa River-TR. Built in 1964, this earth dam stands at a height of 14 feet and has a hydraulic height of 13 feet. With a primary purpose of serving as a Fish and Wildlife Pond, the dam also fulfills roles in irrigation and recreation, encompassing a surface area of 79.1 acres and a drainage area of 5.5 square miles.

Despite its low hazard potential, the dam's condition assessment in 2018 revealed a poor state, signaling the need for maintenance and upkeep. With a normal storage capacity of 400 acre-feet and a maximum storage of 650 acre-feet, Lake No 4 Dam plays a crucial role in supporting the local ecosystem and recreational activities. While its spillway type is categorized as uncontrolled, the dam's outlet gates are managed through other controlled means, ensuring proper water flow management.

As a significant landmark in the region, Lake No 4 Dam serves as a vital resource for both wildlife conservation and community enjoyment. With its strategic location and diverse functions, the dam underscores the importance of sustainable water resource management and climate resilience in safeguarding our environment for future generations.
