Mexia Dam, located in Jayell, Texas, is a vital water resource structure designed by FREESE AND NICHOLS AND ENDRESS. Completed in 1950, this earth-type dam stands at a height of 52 feet and has a length of 1660 feet, with a primary purpose of water supply for the area. It impounds Mexia Creek to provide a maximum storage capacity of 3370 acre-feet, with a normal storage level of 2070 acre-feet. The dam has an uncontrolled spillway with a width of 280 feet and three uncontrolled outlet gates.
