Eagle Mountain Reservoir is located above Ft. Worth, Texas and was constructed in 1932. The reservoir is fed by several major creeks and an extensive system of underground springs, and has a capacity of 400,000 acre-feet of water. The water is primarily used for municipal and industrial purposes, but agriculture and recreation are also important uses. The surface flow into the reservoir is primarily from Denton Creek, but other creeks such as Clear Fork, West Fork Trinity, and Sansom Creek also contribute. The reservoir also receives water from snowpacks in the western part of the state. The surrounding community enjoys recreational activities such as boating, fishing, and swimming, and the reservoir provides irrigation for local farms and ranches.
