Kokosing River
The Kokosing River is a tributary of the Mohican River in Ohio, located in the Midwestern United States. The river is approximately 57.2 miles long and has a drainage area of 565 square miles. The Kokosing River has a rich history, including the use of its waterways by Native American tribes, early European settlers, and industrialists. There are two major reservoirs along the river, the Howard Dam and the Mohawk Dam, which provide flood control and recreational opportunities. The river is also used for agriculture, including irrigation and livestock watering. Recreational activities on the river include fishing, boating, and camping. The Ohio EPA has designated the Kokosing River as an "Outstanding State Waterway" due to its ecological and recreational value.
