Total streamflow across the Ogden River was last observed at 49 cfs, and is expected to yield approximately 98 acre-ft of water today; about 64% of normal. River levels are low and may signify a drought. Average streamflow for this time of year is 77 cfs, with recent peaks last observed on 2023-05-07 when daily discharge volume was observed at 3,290 cfs.

Maximum discharge along the river is currently at the Ogden River Nr Gibson Avenue At Ogden reporting a streamflow rate of 30.7 cfs. This is also the highest stage along the Ogden River, with a gauge stage of 5.21 ft at this location. The Ogden River is a 35-mile-long river in northern Utah. The river has a long history of being important for agricultural purposes, providing water for irrigation in the surrounding areas. The river begins in the Wasatch Mountains and flows into the Great Salt Lake. The Ogden River is also home to several reservoirs and dams, including Pineview Reservoir, Causey Reservoir, and Ogden Canyon Hydroelectric Plant. Pineview Reservoir is a popular recreational area, offering fishing, boating, swimming, and camping. The Ogden Canyon Hydroelectric Plant generates electricity for the surrounding areas. The Ogden River is also an important habitat for wildlife, including fish, birds, and mammals.
