Summary

The current snowpack depth sits at 10 inches—well below average for this time of year—but snow is in the forecast. Skiers can expect 2.59 inches of fresh snow over the next 72 hours and an additional 2 inches in the 5-day outlook, offering a much-needed refresh to the terrain. While powder hounds may find thinner coverage off-piste, groomed runs remain open and rideable, thanks to ongoing snowmaking efforts and careful maintenance.

As the resort celebrates its 50th anniversary with its beloved "Jackass Day" festivities, it's also a time of reflection. Today marks one year since the tragic inbounds avalanche that claimed lives, a solemn reminder of the mountain’s power; increased safety measures remain in place. Despite the low snowpack, Silver Mountain was recently named one of Forbes’ Best U.S. Ski Resorts for the Money and continues to draw praise for its uncrowded slopes and nostalgic charm. With a fresh dusting on the way and fireworks planned to light up the mountain tonight, it’s a memorable way to close out 2025.
