About the Area


The Asahigatake Ski Resort is located in the Hida Mountains of Japan. The Hida Mountains are a mountain range in the Chubu region of Japan, and Asahigatake is one of the prominent peaks in this range. The ski resort offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and is known for its challenging terrain and excellent powder snow conditions. Asahigatake is part of the Northern Alps, which is a popular destination for skiing and hiking in Japan.

The best trails are the gentle slopes of the Family run and the more challenging Black Diamond run. An interesting fact is that the resort was used as a training ground for the Japanese ski team in preparation for the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. For beginner skiers, the resort offers ski lessons and the best trail is the gentle slope of the Family run. The best après ski bar is the Sky Bar, which is located at the summit of the resort and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
