Chateraise Ski Resort is located in the Yatsugatake Mountains in Nagano Prefecture, Japan. The resort offers stunning views of Mount Yatsugatake, a volcanic mountain range known for its rugged peaks and beautiful scenery. The ski slopes at Chateraise also overlook the Chikuma River Valley and the surrounding forested hillsides, providing a picturesque backdrop for visitors enjoying the winter sports activities.
The resort's best trails include the wide and gentle beginner runs, as well as the challenging intermediate and advanced slopes. An interesting fact about Chateraise is that it was founded by a French pastry chef who wanted to bring the taste of his homeland to Japan. For beginners, we recommend starting on the gentle slopes near the base of the mountain, such as the Family Course. After a day on the slopes, head to the charming Lodge Bar for an apres ski drink and some live music.
