About the Area

The Kiso-Fukushima Ski Resort is located in the Chubu region of Japan, near the Kiso Mountains. The Kiso Mountains are part of the larger Japanese Alps and are known for their rugged terrain and scenic beauty. The resort offers a variety of ski runs with different aspects, including north-facing slopes that tend to hold snow better and provide better conditions for skiing. Some of the notable mountains in the area include Mt. Ontake and Mt. Kisokoma, which offer stunning views and challenging skiing terrain.

The best trails are the long, winding runs that offer beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. An interesting fact is that the resort was originally a hiking trail that was converted for skiing in 1952. For beginners, the Peaceful Course is a great option to start with. The best apres ski bar is the Snowbird Bar, located at the base of the resort. It offers a cozy atmosphere and a selection of drinks and snacks to enjoy after a day on the slopes.
